Proceedings will be on sale at the registration booth (1000 yen for students, 2000 yen for members, and 3000 yen for non-members except students). Those presenting at the convention are asked to purchase the proceedings as participation fee. Students of undergraduate and graduate schools must show their student ID at registration. Proceedings will be on sale only at the convention venue. The public symposium is open to all.

<Membership registration>
If you wish to become a member, please register at the registration booth. Membership fee for this year is 7000 yen for members and 4000 yen for students. Admission fee is 1000 yen.
*Members cannot pay their membership fee at the convention registration.
<Party>
The convention party will be held on Day 1 (6pm, Saturday, October 3rd) at Japanese restaurant Sakura, 3rd floor, Academia Hall for Social Sciences, Rokkodai Daiichi Campus. Participation fee is 5000 yen for members, 3000 yen for students. Please make a reservation preferably by September 25th by sending your name and membership status (student member, non-student member, non-member) to psj.party2015@gmail.com. Participation without reservation will only be accepted when there is vacancy. Pre-registration is recommended.
<Lunch>
The venue will not provide lunches. The university cafeteria will be closed on both days. There are no restaurants or stores near the campus, so please bring your lunch to the venue.
<Nursery room>
The nursery room is available during the convention with the cooperation of the venue. The fee is at a reasonable price (500 yen/hour for one child). Participants with small children are encouraged to use this system. Please make a reservation in advance if you wish to use this system. Further information will be announced on the website.
<Exhibition>
Books and acoustical instruments will be exhibited on both days in Room B208.
<Wireless LAN>
Participants will be able to use the wireless LAN. Please stop by at the registration booth if you wish to use it during the convention.

Please get off at JR “Rokkomichi” station, Hankyu “Rokko” station, or Hanshin “Mikage” station. The campus is 5 minutes from Hankyu “Rokko” station and 10 minutes from JR “Rokkomichi” station by car. There are several campuses around the area. Each oral presentation has a 30 minute time slot (25 minutes for presentation, 5 minutes for discussion). Presenters may spend 20 minutes on presentation and 10 minutes on discussion if they wish to spend more time on discussion. There is a 5 minute break between presentations for preparing for the next presentation, but it will not be used to extend the previous discussion. Please follow the chairperson’s instructions to be on time.
Poster session is 60 minutes. Please put up your posters on your designated poster board by the time session begins. Posters with odd ID numbers will present in the first 45 minutes of the session, and those with even ID numbers will present in the latter 45 minutes. Presenters may stand in front of their posters for the full 60 minute session, or only for the designated 45 minutes. Poster board size is 180cm high and 120cm wide. Each presenter will be given a pointer and a roll of tape for putting up their posters. Please give sufficient consideration to the adjacent presenters (e.g. use headphones to demonstrate sounds to the audience). There will be no power supply in the conference room.

Please send your application form to psj2014@nacos.com in PDF and MS Word format (or text file) by June 10th. The length should not be longer than 2 pages (A4-size). Please insert “Submission for 28th Annual Convention” in the email subject. The attached files should be named “psj2014 (name of first author)”. We will send an email to notify the acceptance of submission within a few days. If you do not receive this email, please send an email again by June 15th, as we may not have received your submission email.

‹Guidelines for submission›

  1. The presenter must be a member of the Phonetics Society of Japan. Non-members may submit if the first author is a member. First authors must be members at time of submission. Please check whether the first author has paid the annual membership fee for this year at the time of submission. Submission may be cancelled if unpaid by the submission deadline.
  2. Papers submitted to or scheduled to be submitted to other conferences will not be accepted. Submission will be cancelled if this is the case, and will be made public via the PSJ website.
  3. The abstract should include results available at the time of submission. Papers with only experiment plans will not be accepted.
  4. Notification of acceptance will be sent by June 20th. If accepted, please submit the full paper in both electronic and hard copy by July 20th (tentative). Late submission may not be published in the proceedings.
  5. Format of papers are the same for oral and poster presentations. (less than 6 pages in A4 sized paper)

Call for Workshop Organization

Submission for workshop organizations launched from this year. The workshop will be held in the morning of the second conference day (two hours). This workshop is to offer opportunities for presenters and audience to have discussions on a particular topic after the talks by several presenters. Submission for workshop organization is now open. Please send the application form (approximately three pages in A4 size) to psj2014@nacos.com in PDF and MSWord (or text file) format by June 10th. Please insert “Submission for workshop at 28th Convention” in the email subject. The attached files should be named “psj2014workshop (name of organizer)”. We will send an email to notify the acceptance of submission within a few days. If you do not receive this email, please send an email again by June 15th, as we may not have received your submission email.

‹Guidelines for workshop submission›

  1. The organizer and presenters must be members of the Phonetics Society of Japan. Two or more presenters must be members of the Phonetic Society of Japan. Submission will be accepted if more than half of them are members. (They must be members at the time of submission or have finished with the application.) The workshop may have panel members (members or non-members).
  2. The workshop will be two hours long. More than twenty minutes should be provided for Q&A including the audience.
  3. Workshops organized at or scheduled to be organized at other conferences will not be accepted. Submission will be cancelled if this is the case, and will be made public via the PSJ website.
  4. Presenters’ travel expenses and reward will not be provided.
  5. Notification of acceptance will be sent by June 20th. If accepted, please submit the full paper by July 20th (tentative). Late submission may not be published in the proceedings.
  6. The paper format is the same as oral/poster presentations. There should be one page that explains the aims of the workshop. Presentation papers should be less than four pages each.
