Registration and the Special Lectures
- Please pay the participation fee onsite, at the registration desk. Participation fee is 1000 yen for students, 3000 yen for members, and 6000 yen for non-members (except students). Students of undergraduate and graduate schools must show their student ID at registration.
- Special Lecture 1 and Special Lecture 2 on Day 1 (September 24) will be open to all (without fee). The Special Lectures will also be live streamed via Zoom (up to 300 viewers).

To the Participants
- Given that the convenience stores nearest to the venue are relatively far and that lunch break is not long, we recommend that you bring your lunch to the venue.
- There will be a resting area and an exhibit of books on the 2nd Floor of Building 2 for both days.
- Smoking is prohibited on campus. Please also refrain from smoking on the streets around campus.
To All Presenters
- There is Wi-Fi at the venue, but please be ready to present without Internet connection just in case it is lost (e.g., by bringing presentation materials locally).
- Please register to the conference early enough for your presentation. If possible, please register on the first day of the meeting.
To the Presenters at the Oral Sessions
- Presenting time is 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes Q&A. The presentation may be terminated by the chair in case it exceeds the time limit egregiously.
- The projectors at the venue features HDMI ports as well as a D-sub 15 pin + 3.5mm audio jack. If additional adapters are required, please prepare your own.
- Please make sure that your device can be connected to the projector during the breaks, prior to your presentation.
To the Presenters at the Poster Session
- The size of your poster should be vertical A0 (1189 mm high and 841 mm wide).
- Please include the poster number (e.g., P1, P2) at the top of your poster.
- Poster presentation takes place on Day 2 (Sunday), from 13:30 to 14:30 (60 minutes). The core time for odd-numbered posters will be in the first 30 minutes, and the core time for even-numbered posters will be in the latter 30 minutes. Please stay with your poster during the core time.
- There will be no power supply or projector available at the venue.
Precautions to Prevent the Spread of Infectious Diseases
- Please refrain from attending the meeting if you have symptoms such as fever, for which COVID infection is suspected.
- Please wear a mask at the venue (please make sure it covers your nose).
- Please cooperate in taking measures against infectious diseases such as using disinfectant products, washing your hands, covering your mouth and nose with a mask when coughing, etc.
- In case the spread of infectious disease was confirmed at the meeting, please cooperate in making a contact list.

Guideline for submission
- The presenter must be a member of the Phonetic Society of Japan. Non-members may submit if the first author is a member. The first author must be a member of the society at the time of submission. Please check whether the first author has paid the annual membership fees for the current year at the time of submission. Submission may be cancelled if the membership fees of the first author remain unpaid by the submission deadline.

- If the first author is eligible for consideration for an Outstanding Presentation Award (either he/she is a graduate student or younger than 41 years old as of March 31st, 2021), please let us know whether you would like to be considered for this award.
- Papers submitted to or scheduled to be submitted to other conferences will not be accepted.
- The abstract should include results available at the time of submission. Papers with only experiment plans will not be accepted.
- Applicants may choose the presentation type (oral or poster), but if you put a check mark on the “open to change”, the final decision will be made by the committee.
- Notification of acceptance will be sent around July 20th, 2021.
- If accepted, please submit the full paper in PDF format by Thursday, August 12th, 2021 via the online submission system. Late submission may not be published on the website. Please note that the papers will be uploaded to the website the way they are submitted (i.e., they will not be edited).
- The paper format is the same for oral and poster presentations (up to 6 pages on A4 paper).
- Languages which can be used for the presentation are limited to Japanese and English. If accepted, please write the paper in the language specified at the time of submission, and give your presentation in that language.
- Distribution of additional materials on the day of the presentation is not allowed.
- The proceedings will be made public on the PSJ website prior to the conference venue. We will not provide any hard copies.

Call for Oral/Poster Presentations for the 34th General Meeting of PSJ
Dear Members of the Phonetics Society of Japan
The 34th General Meeting of PSJ scheduled to be held at Kobe Gakuin University on September 25th and 26th has been decided to be held online, due to the unpredictable future conditions related to the spread of the coronavirus infection. We will ask all participants to make a real-time presentation using Zoom. In addition, the presentation will be recorded and made available to PSJ members only for a certain period after the event.
In this way, you will also be able to participate from overseas or from remote areas if you can access the network on the days of the Meeting. Therefore, the deadline for presentation applications will be extended until Friday, July 10. It is a good opportunity for more members as well as non-members to participate than if it were held as a regular national convention. The 35th General Meeting in 2021 will be held at Kobe Gakuin University.

Submission for workshop proposals (morning of Day 2) is now open.

【Call for Workshop Proposals】
This workshop is to offer opportunities for presenters and audience to have discussions on a particular topic after the talks by several presenters. The submission process is similar to last year’s (not electronic). Please send the application form (approximately three pages in A4 size) to psj2016k@yahoo.co.jp in PDF and MSWord (or text file) format by June 20th, 2018 to psj2016k@yahoo.co.jp .Please insert “Submission for workshop at 32nd General Meeting” in the email subject. The attached files should be named “psj2018workshop (name of organizer)”. We will send an email to notify the acceptance of submission within a few days. If you do not receive this email, please send an email again by June 22nd, as we may not have received your submission email.

【Guidelines for workshop submission】
- The organizer and presenters must be members of the Phonetics Society of Japan. Two or more presenters must be members of the Phonetic Society of Japan. Submission will be accepted if more than half of them are members. (They must be members at the time of submission or have finished with the application.) Please see http://www.psj.gr.jp/jpn/membership for details.
- The workshop may have panel members (members or non-members).
- The workshop will be two hours long. More than twenty minutes should be provided for Q&A including the audience.
- Workshops organized at or scheduled to be organized at other conferences will not be accepted.
- Presenters’ travel expenses and reward will not be provided.
- Notification of acceptance will be sent around June 27th, 2018. If accepted, please submit the full paper in PDF format by July 30th (Monday). Late submission may not be published in the proceedings.
- The paper format is the same as oral/poster presentations. There should be one page that explains the aims of the workshop. Presentation papers should be less than four pages each.
- Languages used for presentations are limited to Japanese and English. Please write the title and abstract in the same language. Papers should be written in the same language as the abstract, and presentations should be given in that language.
- Distribution of additional materials on the day of presentation is prohibited.
- Abstracts will be made public as is via attachment to the conference program on the PSJ website before the conference dates (excluding references).
- You will be asked to write a new abstract to be published in the Journal of Phonetic Society of Japan after the conference.
- Revisions on abstract, affiliation, collaborators, etc. will not be accepted after submission. Please double check before submission.
